Ladera Ranch residents preparing for the holidays will have a convenient local option for donating unwanted clothing and household goods beginning Sunday, November 8.
Ladera Ranch Community Services is partnering with Goodwill to operate a temporary donation site at Terramor Aquatic Park, 26281 O'Neill Drive. The site is scheduled to remain open through Sunday, January 10, 2027, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The location will accept clothing and household items. Furniture and other bulk items will not be accepted, so residents should sort donations before loading the car.
The site will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Anyone planning a holiday-week drop-off should check the calendar and avoid those closure dates.
Residents with furniture can use Goodwill's Mission Viejo Warehouse at 23871 Via Fabricante, Suite 401, or the Saddleback store at 23740 El Toro Road, Suite A, in Lake Forest. The official event page lists donation hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for both locations.
For larger items that are not suitable for donation, Waste Management offers Orange County residents free bulky-item pickups. The LaderaLife notice advises residents to call 949-642-1191 at least 48 hours before their collection day to schedule service and confirm current limits and eligible items.
Before donating, make sure items are clean, usable and appropriate for resale. Keeping furniture and bulk goods out of the Terramor drop-off will help the temporary site operate smoothly during what is often a busy season for decluttering.
The local collection window runs for roughly two months, giving residents time to clear closets before the holidays or make room after the new year.
