One of Ladera Ranch's biggest fall gatherings returns this weekend. The Harvest Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, from noon to 3 p.m. at Founders Park, 28275 Avendale Boulevard.
The afternoon will include music, games, crafts, photo opportunities, recreation-program demonstrations, food trucks and a Kids Market featuring products and services from young entrepreneurs. Adults age 21 and older can also visit a beer garden provided by Ten Mile Brewing; a valid ID is required.
Kids Imagine Nation will present its Halloween Party show at 1:15 p.m., inviting families to sing, dance and help tell a spooky story. The annual costume contest begins at 2:15 p.m., with categories for children ages 0–6, children ages 7–12 and groups. Contest registration opens at noon and closes at 1:45 p.m.
Children need an activity wristband to participate in attractions such as the inflatable slide and obstacle course, carnival and sports games, mini golf, crafts, face painting and the rock wall. Resident presale wristbands cost $10 online through Wednesday, October 14, at 5 p.m. Wristbands will be $20 at the festival, and individual activity tickets will be available for $1.
The event is cashless, so purchases must be made by credit card. The ticket booth opens at 11:45 a.m. and closes at 2:30 p.m. Some activity lines may close as early as 2:15 p.m., depending on demand.
Families should bring a copy of their wristband receipt if picking up at the event, supervise children at all times and leave pets at home except for leashed service animals. Bikes and scooters must remain outside the event space, with bike racks available at Founders Park, Avendale Village Clubhouse and Ladera Ranch Intermediate School.
Costumes are encouraged, so plan to arrive early and enjoy a full afternoon of fall activities with neighbors.
